Default anyone identify this bird?

i saw this bird out at my camp. Never seen him before. Ive seen bald eagles around, so i thought it was an immature bald eagle but when he took off, his wingspan was about 5' (or so it seemed)
He had a black head with black beak, his breast was brown and black. Big taloned feet.
When he flew his wings had kinda red wings that makes me think of the red-tailed hawk in the other thread but he sure looks like an eagle.
zoomed all the way on 5megapixel and best i can get.

Swainson's Hawk. Not an eagle, but still a big bird.

A number of years ago, there was a very large kill of Swainson's Hawks that were on their wintering grounds in Argentina. Apparently they had a grasshopper infestation down there that the farmers used a potent poison on, and the Swainson's were gobbling up the poisoned hoppers. Some biologists picking up the dead hawks tracked them down (some were banded) as birds who breed in southern Alberta.
It knocked our local population back for a couple of years, but they seem to have made a comeback.
