Default 2019 Antelope

Been a while Since I tried to post anything but trying this new Tapatalk to post a few pics...
So was able to draw my trophy antelope this year. Last year was fortunate to do the archery antelope as well. Had many great bucks close and multiple opportunities but it was a great challenge and good time to brush up on my archery skills. Ended up taking a smaller but good meat buck my last day of the hunt.

This year was going to be different and trying to be a little pickier as well.
Me and my uncle both drew the draw and changed up the area as well.
Was a great spot to met many great people in the area. Opening day I had my sites on a larger buck we spotted the day before in some coulees but as luck would have it we hiked a few km back in opening morning in the dark and as the sun came up no antelope were in site... we sat for a few hrs until we figured let’s move and see if we happened to pass them on the hike in in the dark but still not sure where they disappeared too. Now starting to see a few other hunters moving around we decided to pull the pin on this buck and decided to go look where buck #2 was. Showed up there and another hunter just got permission to hunt the area and had spotted him....so buck #2 was gone and soon travelling down the road in a pickup.
So now the day is really not going how we figured our opening morning should be going. But lots of daylight left we hunted another area where we spotted a few good goats.
Off in the distance we spotted 3 bucks and two looking ok so decided to set up on the one. Watching him through the scope was tough since he was rutting pretty good, he was busy running and pushing off a smaller buck on the horizon. Finally decided to take him the uncle called out the yardage and he was 410yards away. Held the correct MOA for my 6.5 and one shot it was all over.
Farmer was a great guy and able to get us in pretty close after with a vehicle so took some pics and caped him out, than in the cooler and my tag was filled.
Now the long wait begins for the next time I can head down south chasing these goats. Always a blast and thanks for some pm from another member on here! Definitely any help when going down to these larger zones help when there’s only a few days of scouting.

Cheers,

That's a pretty good sized Buck...awesome job, nice shot from that distance..glad you were successful once again, I know from experience how few and far between these big uns can be when they decide to hide out..

Again, super awesome animal but I can’t believe there’s been no jokes about a 6.5 with a bitch brake yet? You’ve all changed!!
