Default Crawling Valley Reservoir...July 29

Does anyone have a recent report for CVR?

I am looking to head out Friday the 31st. I can imaging the weeds are nearing the surface in some places and heavy in others.

How is that blue-green algae this year? I was out about a month ago and I could already see it developing.

Any problems?

Thanks,
GB

Was thinking the same thing but I might go Saturday or Sunday. Haven't tried there yet this year.

CVR is fishing good these days with no blue green algae. We came back today after catching about 50 fish in 4 hours on Sunday and about 30 yesterday in a similar time frame. Our biggest walleye was 26" and our biggest pike was a bit over 28". We also snagged a rope tied to a 10 lb downrigger ball so that saves me a few bucks for a later summer Kootenay Lake trip.

No algae. Was super hot and little wind this week. Had to search for the fish but then it was on fire. Both the temps and the fishing.

July 30

Got to CVR at 0800, marina was near empty. Saw about 10 boats on the lake fishing, skiing, tubing.....everyone behaving a social distancing...lol

It was nice with the breeze but +31 without the breeze was noticeable....Don't forget the sunscreen.

Fishing was ok with 6 walleye and 14 pike....nothing big but still fun.

When we left at days end, CVR was filling up with the long weekend campers, visitors and boats.....They will be busy.

As usual the place was clean and no trash....They, the EID, manage it well.

Thanks,

BTW, the EID people in the office will be inspecting your boat.....

Last week it was 74 - 75 degree water, marina hit 76 - 77 degrees., i did not do so well keeping by to <20 ft. but one nice 60 cm. walleye & some smaller. Most of our pike were smallish. But folks who reported to bounce at 30 - 35 ft. did well with both wally and pike. Significant wind, but mornings were calmish. Lots of caddis hatches, significant fish numbers hanging suspended at 30 ft.
