your best bet is to fish off the dam at the north end by the campground.
near milo.
there is not much shore access to fish at macgregor.
some at the campground & boat launch area.
fished there before sept long.it was pretty slow. a few small pike.

hope this helps.

orv.

It does help, I should be there at about 9am saturday and i hope to fish for a while. If its slow i might do a run to Crawling valley or back up to the RDR i was there last weekend and couldnt keep the Goldeye off. But i would like to take 1 pike home for dinner. I dont want to make a new thread but does anyone know if any good keeper fish are in the Bow by Bassano that are catchable by a spin caster. I like pike but if its easier to catch a trout i wouldnt mind one.

While i am typing. Fish i havent caught before are Brown Trout, Bull Trout so it would be neat to check those off my list.

Chubdarter is correct, lots of people fish the south end of MacGregor for Pike. If you go a little further east past Lomond there is Badger Lake and all the shore access you can ever want. Good Pike fishing @ the outlet dam on the east end around the canal inlet NE corner and from the road coming in from the north west as well.
Good luck

You can fish on the North Dam using pickral rig setup. There are a lot of walleyes and pikes. But remember that Walleye is 0 limit .

I'd go the chub route and fish the north side of the causeway, bit of a boat ride though. PM me and I'll send you a nice area to both camp and fish and you can launch a boat. the first arrow on the top left will produce tons of whitefish right now.

you can catch pike and walleye below Bassano dam, but consumption isnt advised because of high mercury levels
