Default Lawrence Lake - Athabasca area

So I got a bro in law with some mild disabilities and he loves Pike and Whitefish fishing. Loves to bring one home to mom to eat too. White fish frustrate me and he don't sight fish them too good. We tried Gregg lake past Hinton last year for them but went too deep, then too shallow ugggh. Plus we had auger issues. Next trip there we will know where to set up for the whites lol.

Lots of the go to Pike lakes are either restricted now to no keep or too far for a chance at 1 over 63 cm( and I don't really like bonking the ones over 63 cm anyways). I know this lake used to be full of hammer handles a long time ago. I see the regs say 3 with no size restriction.

Anyone fish this lake and can give some info if it is worth the drive? Not looking for the big ones, just want to him to can catch a few fish and maybe take one or two home to eat.

Tried Nakamun 2 weeks back, didn't have a bite or see one fish on the camera. Lots of back swimmers and fresh water shrimp though.

Thanks
