lucky to find a match set off a buck we know well. I also have one off him from 2015, and he wasn't a baby then...both over 70" ,pics too large to upload I guess...

What time of year do you start looking for sheds typically? I've heard that if you are out too early, you can stress the animals?

I found this one on November 16th, earliest I’ve ever found a shed!

always looking, but check the fringes of the bedding areas and routes to feed now and adjust to the bedding areas in the late Spring when all the snow is gone.

Decided to check a camera on Jan 3. Be-lined it across a field and found this on one of the melted hills. I have one picture of this buck a couple hours after I folded my tag
Now hopefully he sticks around to match it up again.

I like to do a quick walkthrough of areas when there is still lots of snow, avoiding thick bedding areas. It gives me a good idea of current movement in the area. Sometimes I'll use these trips to hang a couple cameras. This is also a good time of the year to glass opening and coulees, even if you don't find antlers this way it gives you a good idea of exact feeding areas.

I don't worry too much about "pushing deer out" I've walked through areas and had deer walk the same trail 5 minutes after me.

Once majority of deer have dropped in the spring I will do a thorough search of the area.

Matched set. Found them in Nov and they might have been on the ground a couple years if not one year.

This guy was on my deck this morning. Have to consider locking the doors. His mate was off camera and he had lost his antlers already...

Default Awesome Antlers BoneDogg

Very nice pictures. Good eye. Imagine you put some walking time into these finds. The matching set is bloody amazing, really nice & heavy with beautiful color.

CNP, you've got a lovely place. I'm envious. I wish my wife were willing to leave the city.

Two large muley bucks have been living in my neighbourhood since last summer. Both shed their antlers today...but not where I can find them. Dang!
