Never seen or caught or heard on anyone catching a pike at Police.

Make sure you check the regs, it is a trophy lake and as such limit is 1. Great thing they did marking it as trophy, the old boys were starting to hit it very hard through the ice.

Water is lower than normal, so with no aeration this year, the short season of ice coverage helped the fish survive, they have definitely wintered very well. Lots of fish in the 18" range, couple over 20 for me this weekend.

It is just the last few years that it was made a trophy lake. Before that it was ice fished very hard much to the detriment of the larger fish. It was the fly fisherman who put forth the effort to get the lake declared a trophy and also to get the ice fishing stopped.

Did not think I had to get into detail but now you know it was at one time not too long ago open for ice fishing and it was fished hard.

That's good news then. Interesting too. I had no idea. I'd love to head down there sometime this summer. Looks stunning!

Hey ;Troller I hope you don't think I was flaming your butt.About ice fishing the lake ,when the season is closed. On checking my diary, the ACA was there 2 times. When the lake was closed doing oxygen sampling, thank god for EL NINO.That's all that saved this fantastic Quality Fishery. That & diligence from concerned fisherman .That want it to remain a QSF.I hope you accept my apology...

It's been quite a while since I was last there. Used a damsel fly imitation, constructed only with peacock herl.

Try using a chromie. or a small black leach with a red bead head. Both under a strike indicator. THAT IS one fly at a time.
