fly line maintenance

hey all i was out on the lake for the last 3 days fly fishing and doing well but the line didn't flow like it use too. so today i decided not to go fishing and clean and wax the line only i couldn't find my fly line dressing that came with the cortland 444 fly line so i stopped by the whole sales sports to pick some up. first time i have a complaint about those idiots. after getting the stuff i wanted i needed some line gink or gunk ??? and the guy kept telling me its a bad idea bla bla bla. anyways i bought some stuff called loon outdoors line speed. then as i got home and was in the cleaning process started wondering is this stuff for cleaning or is it an actual dressing for the line? it says its for cleaning fly line and uv protecting. oh by the way if you guys need the great cotton cordels wally diver they are on sale for half price right now for $8-9 down to $3-4 bucks. got my supply lol.
