Decades ago I took a 300 watt motion detector floodlight and wired on a box and cord and then hung it on an inside wall.
Figured that if they started to break in and the whole place lit up, they might back off. Plus, if I heard a noise and looked out the window and saw interior lights on, I'd know that something moved inside or on their way inside.
Garage has the standard 2 doors (both with glass) but also 3 large windows. (Built in the early 1970s - another age, another world!)
These days Princess Auto might still be selling what I recall is a Brinks? brand spotlight prewired with a plug and cord.
Note: At our rather secluded cabin property this would be the last thing I'd do. It would just light up all the contents for them to see.
Out there I've considered turning off the garage's breaker panel interior lights breaker. Any night time break-in would require them to rely on their flashlights.
