Default Wheat harvest, and the Bear

On the way home today we came upon this little fellow eating wheat in a field beside the highway. And he wasn't alone.

Not a hundred yards away was this,

There were two combines and a tractor trailer in the same field.

I guess it was a bit much for the little guy as we spotted him as he left the field, crossing the road just ahead of us.
He ran across the ditch and the stood on his hind legs beside a telephone pedestal, looking back at us, or maybe the combines.

This photo is deceptive. It makes him look much smaller then the pedestal, in fact he is standing in a shallow trench that runs beside that pedestal.
He is in fact, about the same size, which still makes him a very small bear to be out on his own.

After several attempts to return to the wheat, while a steady flow of traffic whizzed by and with the combines roaring back and forth in the field of wheat, he gave up and headed for the nearest cover, a good half mile distant.

OMG!! There are incredible fish in Alberta. Wish there were names of the fish types. What is that big long white one with the spikes on its back? Looks like something out of a horror movie. lol Is it edible?

here is a few fish from over the years. Nothing special for pictures but I thought I had better contribute.

These first ones are of my wife on some trips over the last few years. She hasn't had the chance to get out much since having the little guy but I am hoping to get her and the son out this winter and next summer for some fun trips.

These 2 are of an area that me and my buddy hikes into this august long weekend for some fly fishing. We are talking about doing a mountain bike trip into this spot and tenting it along the small little beach that is there and fishing that section of the river for a few days.

This one is my wifes cousin with an eye that he caught on my old boat after being tired from a few hours of tubing. We decided to anchor up in one of my favorite spots and jig and it payed off big time that day.

Figured I've been in AB the last 8 years, this was the summer I'd start fly fishing. With a little help from a friend who's been giving me the need to know knowledge, I'm addicted! This afternoon I pulled only my second fish out of the Bow. A big thanks to the fellow angler who came in after about ten minutes with this guy and helped me land it and snag a pic.
I was pretty pumped with this brown!
