Default .22 value

Hi all I have a Winchester Model 77 semi-auto .22 that I am thinking of using as a trade in at a gun show coming up. What I would like to do is trade it for a single shot .22. I bought this gun 20 years ago and used once in awhile for shooting gophers and now my son is into shooting gophers and rather he use a single shot and this guns jams sometimes which is annoying. I have no idea what the value of this gun might be any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I don't know what your 22 would be worth but if you want a single
shot 22 for your boy I have an old one you can have for free. It's not in great shape but it works just fine and I'd rather see it go to a youngster than gather dust here.

Browsing about, I'm seeing Model 77s in good condition going for about $175-$300, with minties tipping the scale at $400-$500.

They're great little guns, they just had the misfortune of coming onto the scene shortly before Marlin dropped their Model 60 onto the market and absolutely smashed it.

Thanks Russian, the gun is in good shape no gouges or scratches in the stock. Its been well taken care of but used. It is a good little gun but the jamming it does is annoying, so I think a single shot well be the best way to solve it. Snakeneil has very generously gave his 22 to me so maybe I well see if I can get a new clip for my gun. From what I have read most of the problem seems to be the spring in the clip goes over time and does not feed the gun as its suppose to.

Thanks again Snakeneil, the 22 arrived today and my son was very excited to see it. We are going down to the range this weekend to shoot it and get it sighted in. I have a friend who works on guns in his spare time, I'm going to see if he can take the gun apart and give it a good cleaning and re-blue the barrel, it well be as good as new. Watch out gophers..............
