Default How to protect pan from getting too much dirt under it?

Hi, I am trying to find out what you use to keep the dirt/sand, etc., from stopping the pan from moving freely, when one sets the trap. I have been told to use wax paper. Anyone have any tips? Thanks,
Chris

River Rat,
I just posted the post about trapping in the snow. Can you read and possibly give me some pointers? Thanks,
Chris
