Default Black Bear Down

Brand new stand. 2 6 foot boars fighting over marshmallows. My Buddy Mynor and his 1st bear. Was a rifle though. He was a touch on scared side as he was solo hunting 1st sit.
Very proud of you dude. Smile says it all. Story time.....

Left Red Deer at 11am to move stands. My 9 year stand gone cold. Another baiter probably cut off a pinch point. All good. So grab the 84 yamaha trike. Rip and tear. Move some 10km away. Set up shop in a sexy new poplar stand on a green cutblock.

Work done. Cold beer. Sammich.

5pm at a 2 week old almost new hunt site. Mynor follows in on my toes. Has rifle 30 06 ,bear mace and a load of fear. . He climbs stand I pop over and add some secret bait to barrel top. Okay. Mini marshmallows and strawberry twizzlers.

I leave and burn away. Making alot of noise.

I settle in my KGB stand and half hour in I get text. Got One. Holy quick.
I burn back. He describes scene. We head out marginal blood. Hour later I spot him hobbled. Being 95% positive he got away I did one last loop. The 6 foot boar has climbed 40 feet up a tree. Blood dripping to ground. Are you kidding me??????? Beginners luck.

Handed him my 300 win. 30 06 was not getting full pass. Wtf? Ah over!

Never forget the thud when he hit ground. What a time. Great humble guy. Great bear. Made my 2016 season.

Well done RDH, I have to agree....my seasons seem to be more complete these days when a friend or family member scores a first.

Well said.

Thanks for all tbe replies. Got him so pumped he put 750 smackeroos into a bow last night at Red Deer archery. See if he can nail the other 6 footer from the fight with archery tackle before too long.
