Default Bigmac's 2016 Spring Bear Bait

Thursday was a great day.* I had my 2 boys (8 and 10), my 20 year old daughter and a good friend of mine with his son baiting.** We moved my site as far south as possible as the bears the last 2 years came in from behind me.

My site is now 50 yards from a creek.* Stand is south of the bait at 28 yards with a predominantly north wind.

1 barrel of sugar and popcorn with the other being oats, dry dog food, grease from Safeway that is absolutely rank.* 1 bottle of hickory flavored liquid smoke and a 5 gallon pail that consisted of wet dog and cat food, 2 containers of minnows from ice fishing, some old moose scraps, ham and the fat from easter, some old stew all mixed with grease.** This pail sat in the sun for a week.** Let's just say my good friend almost lost his cookies.

Then finally a cage with 2 large beavers.** Stay tuned for some pictures next week.

I love spring time and the smell of rotting bait.....lol

Somebody better teach that kid how to use an ax before he hurts himself. Is he barefoot.

I'd say he's wearing rubber boots.

He is defiantly not barefoot. You always have something to say don't you. Move on. He has rubber boots on and they know to always have there legs wide enough apart and only swing an axe in front of them selves. If they miss, legs being a part will not cause them to injure themselves. Is that OK by your standards?

This is why I don't post FK all anymore. Can't handle the Internet police.

Looking good Bigmac........look forward to seeing some pics of what is coming in and hopefully you pull it all together both in Alberta and Sask this spring. Enjoy yourself and can't wait to see how your beaver cages work....they are some of the finest I have seen out there.

Cheers..........Marco

Rhino is loaded and ready to top up the bait. Stay tuned gents. And thank you for the excitement. I am like a kid on Xmas....lol

And I took a few shots along the side of my house tonight at 30 yards to make sure all was well. Not the tightest grouping, but Mr. Yogi doesn't stand a chance.

Update tomorrow night hopefully with some pics of bears
