Congrats Phil, and thanks for the great write up and pics. That hunt looks amazing! What a tank of a cat, incredible Kudu, and all the rest are worthy of admiration. The more I see and read about old Eland bulls, the hotter the fire burns to go get one. I don't know why, but they sure have my attention.

Any thoughts on the potential sheep hunting changes.....

That leopard is an absolute toad and I hope I get to see him when you are done!!!!!!!That cat would be worth the trip alone just for me. Awesome leopard and kudu! The eland is very good too, but then I think all eland look great!

ignored this post for 2 days cause i figured who cares about zimbwaby and i'd never go unless i won the lottery. my mistake. what a hunt and what great pics and stories. i lost track of all the different game you were shooting but there were some magnificant animals. esp. liked the leapord hunt. much bigger cat than i expected. wish we could hunt yotes at night. welcome back to the land of ice and snow.

Ditch Donkey- Got the gaiters over in Africa.

Marco- That cat did make my trip!!! It was by far the best experience I have had hunting in my life so far. Beats any Sheep or Grizz I have killed. If it didn't cost as much as a new diesel truck to go on a hunt like this I would be all over it again. Got Tur or a Marco polo next on my mind or I would love to go back to Africa!!!

Slopeshunter- it was a 15 day hunt. You need a min. of 14 days for a decent chance at a cat.

Walking buff- I won't comment on the sheep changes right now. All I know is I went sheep hunting for 2 days this year and passed on a ram that was 2 inches past legal and broomed off a bit. If I can kill one every year I don't really think there is much of a problem.

I had a great trip. A 60"+ kudu is like shooting a 200" whitetail in Zim. There might be a lot in South Africa where they are pen raised but in zim they are wild and free. I shot some amazing animals. Even my little Grysbuck is a rare thing and to have him be a record setter as well is something else.

The entire hunting industry in RSA shops for Kudu at SPAR (local Safeway). Look closely they all have a bar code on the horn bases.

You got an incredible Kudu and you have to run down an entire countries hunting industry because it makes your trophy bigger, better... You're a better hunter... Really????

I'll reflect some of your attitude for your own consumption.

Getting a Leopard like that during a drought year was actually due to a FEEDING program vs being baited.
Success like that in an area unknown to the PH... Got to really wonder don't you.
