Default cat mount

Great pics and stories Phil. 3.5yrs turnaround time on the cat at the taxi? Hope there was a pretty healthy discount for the wait? From the pics you put up, what all did you have mounted? (shoulder, euro skull, full bodies?) Did you get any of it done over there or ship it all home and have a local do it like you did with the cat? Post up some finished pics when you get a chance.

Yup it has been WAY too long and will leave it at that. It won't happen again.....
I just got the cat done so far. I have a couple other crittters I just got tanned and will do them myself this summer. Most of them the euro mounts are done over there and I have all of that in the trophy room.

How do they preserve the hides to bring back in Africa?

Salted and frozen? Or sent back fleshed, salted, dried and then you reconstitute it if using it for a wet tan.

Thanks

Default Zimbabwe hunt

Looks like an incredible hunt Nube. I hunted Africa 5 years ago and it was a hunt of a life time. I did not get the trophy quality that you did, but can definitely relate to the people over there and the experience they give you. Hard to put it into words. Nice post!

What a great hunt you had and what a brute of a cat that sucker is.
That will be a hunt full of stories for life.

Thumbs up

Certainly brought back a LOT of Fond Memories!!

Been to Zim a couple of times, have long term Buddies there (some fought when it was called Rhodesia), but many have departed due to NutBar Robert's shenanigans. Can't say as I blame them, and likely will not return until he is gone.

That said, everyone should experience this kind of hunt at least once!
Between Zim, Nambia, Botswana and SA I certainly fulfilled a few lifelong dreams! Looks like the OP did much the same!

Awesome Kudu and even better Cat! Congrats & Many Thanks for Sharing!!

Cheers,
Nog

Default taxi stuff

Hey Phil, can you give some sort of bread down on prep costs over there, and getting the euros done there. As well as shipping details and costs, and those involved with the disinfection and stuff. Hearing verifying costs to say the least. PM is fine, thanks.

"South Africa where they are pen raised but in zim they are wild and free." i am just wondering if there is a high fence around the animals. I love the kudu but am a strongly "fairchase" hunter. To me fairchase is no high fence. Is the area just so big but fenced in or are they able to leave his area. Thanks
