I only have one and that is likely all I'll have for the forseeable future

If I could have 4...

Practical

12ga (maybe)
270 (or 270wsm) a light one for deer and the mountains
338 win mag (maybe a 338 RUM ) for moose and elk
what more do you need?

Hey, that's only 3.

toss in a 450 rigby or one of the other savage big bores to loosen my fillings.

Oooh, or something like this...

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/co..._marcel_kc.jsp

For now I'll hang on to my 308 and be happy with it.

I think a 30-06 or 300 win mag would cover everything well too.

Default Emergency delete

Mods, this entire thread must be deleted immediatly.
If someone's significant other were to see it, they could get the idea that 4 is enough. This heretical idea must be suppressed without mercy.

Yep, and we should burn Cop at the stake as he could only find reason to own THREE!! Such heresy must be dealt with.

(For those lacking in humor this AM the above post is strictly tongue in cheek and Cop is not in any danger.)

Default newfies....

Nefies only need one gun...

Over under 410/22lr.... good for everything.....

Drop a 44mag or 45 Colt (forget which one works) into the 410.... voila instant short range moose gun......

and carrying such weaponry means you are hunting rabbits.....and grouse... sorry......pawtrige....

Now now,

I'm poor (more or less)

I would think that suggesting blowing 40 grand on a completely unpractical museim piece might count for something.

Maybe I can apply for a subsistence hunting tag

Only four guns, that would suck! Would make me feel like a Liberal. But NO worries i'm not. However if I felt the need to feel like one I would go with

- 22LR
- 7 mm Rem Mag
- 12 ga
- 7.62 x 39 SKS ( my fun gun )

Here's my picks...

300 win mag (Kill any animal in North America)
243 (great gun for the praries deer, Coyotes etc)
22 ( all around fun to shoot and cheap to operate)
12 ga (No bird is safe when armed with a 12)
I guess its a "to each their own" type of thing. For someone to sit there and wonder why someone may want or need several different guns/calibers/cartridges could be akin to wondering why someone would sit on a stand as opposed to road hunting.....let people be people.

I'm like NDN, you cant have enough

I actually only have 4 guns, 7mm, 3006, 12 gauge and a 22. I need to get a newer 22 to replace the one I have. If I knew I was only going to have four guns for the rest of my life I'd go 338, 25-06, 22lr and a 12gauge.
