Do we need a recipe category??
With the hunting season coming again, I am just wondering if we need a special category for recipes on the outdoorsmen forum.
I for one would like to see one, how about you guys??
I will add a poll for sake of convenience.
Have a good day.

I think that would be an excellent idea, myself.

I would like to see the general category broken down a bit. Photography is another topic that might be a good one. There are so many new threads it is hard to keep up. Sometimes if a thread is a few hours old it is bumped to the second page.
But I do understand it may make it harder for the mods to monitor and for what we pay to be on here, can we really complain too much.

I can only speak for myself, and I don't need a recipe category, but go ahead if you want one. Doesn't negatively impact me. Doubt it will fly though if we couldn't get a fly fishing category going.

That is good thinking, to split the category in a few ways, like fish, deer and the like and fowl or something like that, should be good. Thanks for sharing that thought.

But where do you stop? Do you break it down to Pike, Walleye, Perch, etc.. in the Fish category. And then do you break it down to Deer, Moose, Elk, etc...
I think that if a recipes category is popular it will keep getting updated and stay on the front page. Personally i just use the search function and search for "recipes" and go from there.

I voted No because "where do you draw the line". I've been on this forum since its inception back in the late '90s. It has survived the other fora because it didn't break down the subjects too finely. On the other sites, you couldn't make up your mind, first, where you wanted to start reading, and second, where to post a message. If you keep the subject selection simple, more people will read and more will post. IMO, that's why the Outdoorsmen Board has survived where others have not.

x3.
While I like the idea, I think it simply breaks things down too far. I'm quite sure there have been a number of recipe threads, over the past few years; and certainly it would be a thread that would get a fair bit of response. There are a lot of guys on here who have some great ideas for cooking.
