Default Fly wallet

I am not a fly fisherman, however have a son that does. Question, the leather cases or wallets for flies, are they good? Looks to me like the flies will be damaged. If they are good, I will make some for him. Thanks for reading.

They are nice for streamers or wet flies and nymphs. Dry flies will get squashed. A fly box is a much better choice.

I personally try to make decisions based on weight, bulk, and convenience. I find the leather cases or wallets too bulky for what you are able to carry. There is a lot of material and weight to carry a small collection of flies. There are cheaper, more convenient options out there.
