Default B-Wabbit & Z-z Latest Adventure

Dec 01st ... we decided to head out & get some ice time in before Sylvan & Gull open. I didn't have a great day, Scott will add to the story including some pic's of a new P/B trout.

Hit the lake about 9ish (my fault, out late last night).

First hole I drilled got "the Jack" and while we were setting up the shacks and getting settled this bruiser decided to take a swipe and... BOOM!

All thanks to Zip for his expert assistance in landing this bad boy. Only had 6lb fluoro on and he did NOT want to cooperate. Zip reached in to the hole and pulled him out just in time!

All in a great start to the hardwater season based on my new PB Brownie but a pretty brutal day of fishing otherwise. 40 holes or more and this was the only fish landed. We only saw 2-3 more uninterested fish all day.

Packed up at 4ish and thanks to Zip's ingenious tow system we had the gear off the lake and loaded by 4:30. Home and cooled by 5:30.

Cheers,

Scott.

Great brownie and great colours....glad to see no black spot disease as the last few brook trout we got at that lake were covered with them.

Skain11 ... it appears the Browns & Rainbows don't have the "Black Spot" disease you mentioned, it only affects the Brookies. The parasites have not disappeared, you could clearly see them on the water surface moving around, looked like someone sprinkled black pepper in the hole. We spoke to a few others who were out, they had caught a few small Bow's. I seen 2 fish all day, one was a Brookie that showed some interest and came back 3 times but wouldn't commit, not sure if anyone caught any Brookies, it was a tough day. As Scott said we drilled 40+ holes, moved countless times to different spots, tried between 4 -15 fow, perhaps they were hiding deeper, who knows, that's fishin.

Fortunately that big Brown made our day and Scott has a new P/B trout to be proud of & I was lucky to get it out & on the ice for him & capture the moment.

Cheers

David

Kudos for you guys for not bonking that Brownie on the head. It takes a few years for them to get that big, and now some other folks may get the chance to land him and get some photos. They don't all have to be considered groceries.
