Question Shipping ammo cost?

What would I be looking at to ship some pistol ammo to say Grand Prairie?
Would it be worth my and the buyers expense?

weigh the and measure the package, then look on Canpars website. i would guess around $35 minimum..... been a while since i Have had any shipped.
the other thing to consider is delivery, AFAIK Canpar delivers during business hours, requires a signature, and doesnt deliver out in the countryside, so someone needs to be home to except package, in town. What i do is have it sent to my wifes place of work (dental office) always someone there....She had a few funny looks from the girls at the desk when they opened the package and scene the explosive sticker lol.

Some shippers dont accept ammo as its considered an explosive for example Canada Post. Canpar does, try here for a quote

Generally if adding hazmat charges to a shipment it will add $20 to the total cost for small parcels plus you need to fill out a TDG declaration.

Canpar does not add hazardous levy. They do ammo at smae cost as any other package of the same size.

I have shipped several packages of loaded ammo or powder by Canpar.
You declare what you are shipping and ask it go by ground.
Insurance is optional
There are not hazmat charges
Charges are reasonable if you are going to a major centre but can get expensive if the place is off the beaten track.

They will NOT ship a firearm and ammo in the same box (had to do some quick repackaging at the depot).

My sense is it's best to ship it to a place where someone will be at home. If that is not an option, send it in care of a business who would be willing to accept it on behalf of the receiver.

Lots of complaints online about Canpar. I have never had a problem.
Good luck.
