Default Best budget entry level spotters

Have a friends wife that’s looking to get him a spotter at a bare bones basement budget (under 500$) what’s everyone’s favourite basement brands I’m not sure you can even get into the lifetime warranty brands at that price point. And no she didn’t want to save up and get something better his last scope was a tasco that got stolen when his trailer was broken into, the thieves where probably pretty disappointed In that brand 😂 I dont have a lot of experience with bargain brands hope most of you that do can chip in.

It’s a little more money , got mine for $750 I think , but athlon ares 15-45x60 is actually pretty darn good. Much better optically then the vortex diamondback I had before that.

I bought a Cabelas brand scope this spring that I am pleased with. It looks like they updated the model since (mine is 45x, new one is 60x). This new one is also $450 regular, which i think is what i paid when mine was on sale. If it goes on sale within 90 days of buying it, cabelas will refund you the difference.

I picked up a Bushnell Trophy spotting scope back in the mid-80s and it's still the only spotting scope I've ever owned, it's served me well. It was a step down from the Spacemaster models of the day, but still a pretty decent scope. I believe they still have a version of this model on the marked, might be worth checking out.

I have a gosky branded scope. Actually works really good. I can spot 30 cal hits on paper out past 200 yds and easily see trace, hits on steel, and miss splashes in dirt fromt 300 out past 1500 yds...I don't really use it for spotting game but as long as you use a really stable tripod it's a decent scope for the $$

@ $270.00 with VG reviews, seems like a great bargain to me, especially if you are doing a lot of target shooting over 500 yards, sure beats walking or driving back and forth hey?

I bought mine 3 years ago for 140$ it's the HD version and out performs all the hunting branded scopes under 500$ that I could try out locally. Its branded a bird watchers scope so it might not be as tough as the huntung branded stuff but I'm not packing it up a mountain so it's fine for my use. I pretty much only shoot steel past 2-300yds so spotting trace and watching for dirt splash is what I need it for. I like the phone scope rig it came with too. When by myself I can video the shots and often watch trace after wards to see where impact was..

500 dollars for a new spotting scope is a waste of money unless you like being frustrated and sorry. Better off looking for a used one for that price. And no I am not a snob, I have been there, I'd rather have the money in my pocket.

Sometimes you can’t talk people out of bad ideas And sometimes when people only use poor equipment they dont know what the good stuff is like.

I do not buy anything that I can't return within 30 days for a full refund. If I don't like what I purchased for whatever reason back it goes, no money lost. I Just brought back a Canon 75-300mm zoom lens to Visions an hour ago, it did not perform to my expectations, so ADIOS!

You will never lose with this type of approach and you have ample time to figure out if you made a bad decision or not. Be sure to keep all of the original packaging and your receipts!
