Drove to Redwater. -6 at my place -8 out here but holly cow does highway 28 suck. Absolutely pure ice. The Prreli Scorpion All Seasons that came on the Grand Cherokee are pure crap on ice. No traction at all, just like driving on hockey pucks, despite having only 24000 klms on them. Without doubt the very worst all season tire I have ever owned. Will be interested to see how the Michelin Xice snow that Bob reommended feel on the way home.

I run Duratracs on my pickup and have for many years. Tried a ton of others, always went back to the Duratracs. The Jeep however never goes off pavement and doesn't need a tire near that aggressive. It needs something that has great performance on pavement, never even goes on gravel, and it is basically my wife's car that we also take on some road trips when we need room. Quiet tires that ride good and handle well in the twisty roads is more important than mud and deep snow performance the Duratracs are so good at. The Pirellis are great as a summer tire and with 1 day of use I really like the Michellins on ice and winter roads. When the Pirellis wear out I will buy pure summer high performance tires and switch winter and summer. First time I have done that in 40 years.

Blow it out your ear and mind your own business. Report the post if you really think it is inappropriate. You didn't start this thread and this is your second post or so. We already said it was -8 when we were checking out tire performance. The volunteer thread police are getting as bad as the Covid enforcers. This is social media. There really aren't any rules to it.

2 above here this morning. Have left the last couple of dustings of snow on the drive and walks. Seems to be helping a lot with keeping decent traction with all these rain showers that keep passing through.

-34 in Redwater, Ab. Our house too is creaking and moaning. Thankfully it’s a log house so most of the popping is from the outside deck and doors. You know it’s cold when the bluetick gives you side eyes at the door before you push her out to go pee. Lol. And she doesn’t mind the cold, but -34. She’s like nope.

-32 here this morning. House is popping and creaking a little. These big swings are way worse than steady cold but I wouldn't give up the warm breaks for less creaking. the new Michelin X-ice I put on the Jeep are a huge improvement in this real cold and on the icy roads, over the Pirelli Scorpion All Seasons.
