Default Maligne Lake is open n spawn is on

With Maligne Lake road open did some boat fishing but with the Rainbow Trout

spawn on at outlet Maligne river bridge on lake side which is closed to fishing

you can see this for the next 2 weeks …

Yes the outlet spawning beds are pretty amazing. I suspect that the creeks further up the lake are also being utilized, as well as any sections where there is springs feeding the gravel along the shore line.

In BC, Bios had reports of lake spawn, and went to check it out. Turned out the spring flow on the shore gravel was sufficient for successful spawning on rainbow trout in the lake.

But all the same, nice to see!!!!

Try a polarizing filter on your next video. Clear up the glare. In a pinch I have even used my sun glasses.

Nothing is more fun than watching trout spawning.

Beautiful, thanks for sharing. Any idea at what age rainbows goto spawn?

I may make a trip to the rivers and streams our Bow river Rainbows spawn to have a look before the June 16 opener on those waters.
