It's a http://blazecut.com fire suppression system. Lots of old VW's have gone up in flames. I'm trying to take as many precautions as possible to avoid that.

Not gonna lie, I don't really get it. I like nostalgia and all, but modern fuel control has done wonders.
The new ones make power more effeciently, do so with better road manners, typically start with ease in the cold, average better fuel economy and generally don't need to be overhauled every 100 000 or so.
Disclaimer: despite fixing them for a living I am hardly a car guy.
Edit: they do look pretty though with all that chrome and such. And the amount of real estate under the hood is enviable.

Here is a one off 27. Started as a 4 door, still original steel sitting on a chromed corvette C5 suspension. Running a stroker with 1000 cfm fuel injection.

70 ½ Z, she was a street/strip car got it with a broken 454 with a B/W Super T10, 264 1st, 456 12 bolt. Built a 302 kept the tranny, threw in set 4:11’s, sold her in 1998 with 24K miles, never seen a snow flake, was a nice street car, yup miss her , too.

Posted these in 2016, my Dad took these pics back around 1945 when he was working in Red Lake, Ont. He's the young fellow on the right with the beard & his new Hornet chain saw, it was one of the first in the bush camp. The TD14 International & horse teams ..... vintage power.
