Grazing lease
Just a question can a person legally lock a gate to a grazing lease even when there is no live stock on the land. I tried to call fish and wildlife for info but they didn’t call me back

To keep out motorized traffic? Why not?

Smart and polite thing to do would be to contact the lease holder and request reasonable access. If denied and you feel you are unjustly denied, then you can contact the local Lands Office to request they intervene with the lease holder to grant you reasonable access.

There is an online list of all grazing leases, who holds them, contact numbers and access limitations. Very easy to look up online.

Conditions of the lease regarding access will answer what they can do.

Absolutely they can lock the gate
Foot access only!
And if you find sheds, on public land, it would be considered stealing from the Alberta public if you took them.

95% of leases are foot access only.

Ok. Half of that statement is April Fools worthy and it's after 12 PM.

You can keep sheds found on public land.
You cannot keep sheds found on provincial parks land.
Learn the difference.

So....
Explain to me the difference please
Sheds on public land are owned by the public
Just like the grass that grows on public land that all the ranchers have to pay for... oh and also pay the municipal taxes to have the joy of paying for the public’s grass... why don’t you have to pay the public for the sheds???

Because the ranchers are paying for the grass not the sheds. They do not own the sheds, nobody owns the sheds on public land. Finders keepers.

There is a good reason everyone has ignored that post. It is clearly a pure Troll. No point in feeding the Trolls, hopefully they just go back under their bridge.
P.S. It would appear I spoke too soon.
