I like that one... it's funny, no one in my family was a hunter. I honestly believe that with me getting very serious about it, feeding my family all year long, exposing people to the skills it takes, the ethics and morals as well as the tastes of game I have influenced a number of opinions on the subject... mind you most folks I know are realists, practical people that are open to new / old deas.

Default Hunting's Remarkable Resilience

Well said Shane.

I first heard of him at the Sheep Show in Red Deer in 2016 where he gave a keynote speech. I have to admit that most of us who had never heard of him prior to that talk were put on our heels by his empowered and sometimes over the top speech.

Now that I’ve heard a few more of his musings and have more context to place them under, I have to admit that Mr. Mahoney is one of the great ambassadors and minds in our world of the outdoors. He and Steve Rinella rise above the rest in our time. Mahoney is Canadian to boot.

Again, well said Shane.

He is indeed that.
I met Shane many many years ago. We both wound up sitting on the Sustainable Use Forum at CITES.
Followed him a bit since then. Extremely enlightened, incredibly active, and incredibly eloquent.
Felt great to shake his paw again this winter in Nanaimo, and hope I get that opportunity a few more times down the road...

Cheers,
Nog
