.277 145 gr ELD X bullet
Wondering if anyone has tried these in a 270 wsm or 270 win? I tried some 150 lrab in my 270wsm, velocities and groups were terrible so i have decided to take a new approach. I got rid of the junk Federal brass that came with loose primer pockets, bought new Nosler brass and the 145gr ELDX and Reloader 26. Hoping to give this a try in the next few weeks.

I just developed a load for my 270 wsm using these bullets and rl 26. I had brass issues with new Federal brass also and switched to Norma brass.

FWIW I load for my 6.5x55 143 grain ELD-X with Nosler brass. Most wonderful accuracy and brass is now fired 12x and looking like new. Great stuff.

I have used 145 ELD-X in a Winchester Model 70 270Win (22" barrel). The factory loads grouped well, but seemed to be significantly slower (~2850 fps) than advertised at around 0 degrees C (they got about the advertised velocity around 20 degrees C (~2975 fps)). My reloads with H4831SC were able to achieve some incredible (and consistent) velocities (~3100 fps) and grouped comparably to the factory ammunition. However, I seem to have a chronic instability issues (key holes) and I wasn't able to get them anywhere near the lands due to the magazine length.
I shot one whitetail buck with them at about 200 yards. The deer died quite quickly, but the bullet whistled right through with amazingly little damage to the boiler room; very small wound channel and exit hole (no red soup).
I think they are alright, but I have more accurate loads with other bullets so I think I am about done with them.
