Default The best fishing destination in Canada. The NSR???

Well, it looks like our hidden gem might be attacked by fishermen from all over the world. I think the NS river's glory days may be a thing of the past if so. I wish people would stop spreading such news. Grrr.

According to fishingbooker.com, the North Saskatchewan River has been named best fishing destination in Canada for 2022.

We have such a limited fishery in Alberta that we don't need such pressure on one of the last gems we have.

Fully agree EVERYONE go fish NSR. Looks like they finally found a way to decrease the angling effort on the bow. lol

I wouldn't sweat it. First of all, I bet no one has ever even heard of that site before. Secondly, they list Wabamun Lake as one of the top ice fishing destinations in all of Canada for 2022. ROFL.

Thanks. Wabamun? I needed a good chuckle today.

Ah yes, the NSR. It does have an excellent population of tirefish, and I suspect it holds the world record finless brown. So much garbage in it, I’ve seen all sorts of junk floating down from a condom to a old recliner (surprised that floated). Perhaps I’m just sour since I’ve spent 19 days fishing it and have yet to catch a lake sturgeon. Just seems like a sorry excuse for a fishery in my opinion. That said, I’ve been bank fishing and I’d imagine it’s much better from a boat like everything else.

Can it rival Fraser or Red River in Manitoba though? I think not.
