Default Which scope would you mount on your rifle

So I acquired 2 scopes in a trade. One is a Bushnell 3200 3-9x40 the other is a Burris Fullfield 2 3-9x40. Can't decide on which one to mount. It will be mounted on a savage axis 25-06.

Both are good scopes, about the same quality. Mount whichever one fits the best on your gun.

Weigh them and pick the lighter one. Or if they have different reticles pick the one that catches your eye more. There both ok scopes I had the fullfield 2 on my rifle for years and it nailed a lot of deer. You could always try them both out.

I recently got a Burris scope. I am genuinely surprised by it. That being said I have had lower end Bushnells that I have been really happy with and some slightly better Bushnells that were garbage.

Go with whichever one you like looking through.

Both scopes should do well in terms of magnification and construction. The deciding factor as far as I'm concerned would be the reticle. And I don't think that either would offer my preference. Which is a target dot, and fine cross-hairs. I hate dots, lines, and BS and too much information in my scope view.

But then ask yourself this: When you dial in a half MOA on the turrets, do you really get a half MOA on target? That to me is the meaning of worthwhile optical sights.

I agree. I don't have anything fancy, rifle or scope wise. Different opinions but predictable is a very close factor as well. As long as I know what it does when I go click or 5 clicks, to me, what it says it's supposed to do isn't as important. However I would really like it to move what it says it does too.

Take them both out, particularly at dawn or dusk, and see which one is brighter or has greater clarity. I always go buy my scopes in the evening. Everyone's eyes are a little different. What looks best to someone might not look as good to another. just look through them both at various ranges and choose.

That's good optics advice in general. What might look great in the store might not translate as well when you're outside. Or, both might be good, but one of them stands out just that little extra bit. To get a bit of a better feel for them, ask the rep if they can head outside with you for a few minutes to check out both. A parking lot is different than field conditions, but you should be able to spot differences where any exist.

If you have the option, come back at different times of the day and try them outdoors too. I did that for the last set of binoculars I purchased and they were happy to oblige. Both of my options were good. One was just a tiny bit better to my eye when I took them out. I personally do this for all optics purchases where I have the opportunity. That's usually my tie-breaker.

I think both scopes are about the same quality. For a hunting rifle I would pick the one with the longest eye relief.

Well I took everyone's advice and compared them in low light situations. The Bushnell 3200 won hands down. So mounted it this morning sight in later today. Thanks for all the input.
