Default Best was to hang a bear rug

I have a rug from a bear I shot a few years ago. I have hang it by putting small nails every 6 to 8 inches around the outside in the felt backing. Is there a better way that might put less holes in the wall?

Sew large washers into the felt at the end of each paw, under the tail, and the head. Then use those washers as hanging points. Would recommend strong art hanging hook that nail into the wall.

We used key rings from Michaels to hang mine. Wife seeed in strategic places. Works well and inexpensive.

My dad had made a little wood frame to hold the shape of a bear skin he had and then just needed one or two nails to hold it on the wall. I'm thinking now that a jig saw and a sheet of 3/8 plywood and some shoe tacks would work great, I think dad's was just a few pieces of 2x2 nailed together.

Like Beeman suggested....
Make a nice willow frame and lace the bear hide into it. Then you only need one or two wall anchors to hang it. The shutterstock pic is an example from the internet.

Good idea too but dad just put a stick from nose to tail and a couple across to the paws. It worked good but he just had a hide and not a rug so I don't know how different it would be.
