Great animals this year guys. Here are my 2 from this season. This is my first Bulll Moose. Was a incredible hunt, spent eight days trying to find a good Moose. Warm weather, wolves and extreme wind made this a tough hunt but finally on the 8th day I was able to get my bull. I have to give credit to my hunting partner who pushed 2 bulls from their beds into my line of fire, 2 shots at 470 yards and he went over backwards. My I phone died after 2nd picture. We were about 8000' up. Would have loved to get a panoramic shot, it was a hell of a spot.

My Mule hunt was a blast. Open prairie spot and stalk hunting was everything I hoped for and more. Belly crawled up to the edge of the coulee and spotted this guy bedding with a few does that came into 2nd estrous season. He finally stood and I was able to take my first ever Mule Buck. Thanks to all my friends that made these hunts and this years hunting season a season to remember.Attachment 1IMG_3047.jpg IMG_3167.jpg

Pretty Special year for an old guy...

Year started off with a Bear hunt along the Athabasca with an old Army friend. While the bear I shot was small the memories shared were huge.

I managed to stalk to within about 10 yards of the WT I took in Kananaskis. It was well before the rut so I rack it up to luck more than skill.

A real proud moment was when my friend shot his first big game animal. After a year of 'mentoring' even the small buck was epic!

Even though I didn't shoot this one, it was by far the most exciting hunt for me this year as I got to call in and stand beside my wife when she got her first deer.

Default First buck

There are some great looking animals on here! This is my second year hunting and first buck and on a solo hunt, feeling pretty grateful. Story is in another thread if you're interested. Thanks for sharing everyone!

Default First elk

My first elk. Took him at 400 yards with my trusty tikka 6.5 x 55. He made it 20 feet.

I kept the cape from my buck. It's yours if you ever decide to have a shoulder mount done.

My wife was after this deer for two years. Last year we sat as many days as we could ( about 14 days) and he would only come after dark this year he messed up.
we sat for 10 hours in the blind with out leaving other then for a quick washroom break passing up other deer just like the year before,
we started to feel discouraged then 20 min before last light he stepped out to mark his scrape that we figured we should watch for the day because of recent sign around it , she made a beautiful shot with her hand loaded 270 tipped tsx rounds that she loaded on her own . Could not be more proud the soon to be mother of our first future hunter and the patients she put into this buck this year.

Posted both of these in the Archery Forum already but what's another spot right? First day Moose and Wideguy who I've been after for 3 years now with a bow.

My 2016 whitetail. Last day, Last hour before I had to pack up and head home after 2 weeks of hunting I drove up to a clear cut and he was in a little bush with a doe. Great way to end another year!
