Default 2016 Successful Hunt Pics, post them up...

Lot's of successful hunts on AO this year so let's see if we can get some pics of the outcome of everyone's hard work in one thread. Basically a one-stop spot where you can come to check out the great critters this beautiful province had to offer up in 2016. Don't let size or sex discourage you; this thread is for everything from flat-tops to 400" bulls.

I'll post up first to get the ball rollin'.

That's a great looking buck! Hope I will post mine on Sunday (going out for the day). I could post the head of the buck my cousin took a couple of weeks ago, but that's all I got though - a photo of the head in the shed (a good 6x6 though).

P.S. Great thread to create. I was wondering why there wasn't one.

Default 2016 WT deer

Got this guy at 8 minutes into legal light. Watched a couple of does that I thought were spooked by me. Tails were up, but was just casually walking. Kept watching them and they seemed to be watching something else in the bush. Made a couple of soft grunt sounds and out comes this guy.

Default 2016 whitetail

What a night it was last sunday. I had bucks fighting in the field, does everywhere and my target buck finaly showed up during daylight. Ive been watching that buck since september on my camera but he would never come out to the field during the day. It was one of my best whitetail hunt ever. He came behind a doe grunting and chasing her like crazy. A night to remember for sure

15 yard shot with does surrounding me on the ground while sitting in a stubble pile. Now to find my moose with the pointy stick and string.

Got this guy as I was packing up my stuff to go home at the end of our hunting trip! Learned a very valuable lesson that day... never go anywhere without your rifle!

Hunting with my bow wasn't going so well , so I decided to take a weekend with the rifle, was out on a hay field for an hour seen him jump the fence and dropped him with a heart shot at 200 yards.

My muley Nov 2nd.
Heard him raking his antlers like 300 yards away in some willows. Grunted at him like 4 or 5 times. He made a straight line towards me and shot him at 20 yards. Got a muley doe a few days later and in search of a WT buck now. Saw a couple decent ones just no shot yet. But it ain't over yet!!

Off to a good start . My sister (at age 65) decided she wanted to hunt this year.
Two Deer on the same day as her first successes.

My 13 yr old Grandson is off to a great 2016 as well but he has a few seasons under his belt. I'll have to stick close to these two.

Default 2016 Successful Hunt Pics, post them up...

My two hunting partners and arguably the best hunting memories I've made for 20 years since I could hunt with my old man.

Haven't had much chance to hunt big game this year, one good day on the river, but a cow and large calf was all we saw.
I did get out and Shoot this doe earlier on so I do at least have a bit of venison in the freezer

Did shoot some pheasants with my Berreta muzzle loader as well however !

I agree MK. For the trouble of linking thumbnails and links and crap I wish guys would just learn to put em up right in the first place. That said there's a few good bucks taken. Seems like numbers of the real top end bucks are down this year. A few FB groups are just polluted with babies too. Makes it tougher to grow them big fellers.

Default 2016 doe

This is my second nice big doe for the freezer this season. Sat on a log a bit back from a heavily traveled game trail at first light on Nov 14. At about 8am got busted somehow and heard the snort wheeze. She must have caught me moving my head looking around as the wind was directly from her to me. I replied to her snort wheeze and we went back and forth for about 5 min. Hen I heard her start walking slowly stopping every couple yds to snort wheeze at me and I'd reply and she'd take a few more steps. Finaly after about 20 min total she stepped out into the open about 80 yds out. I bring up my rifle and my scope is fogged so bad I can't see anything. I quickly wipe away the fog re shoulder my rifle and send a round into her front shoulder. She ran in a complete circle then crashed into the bush where I knew I heard her pIle up.
Ate a granola bar and drank some water the walked to where she'd been standing. With no snow tracking was slow going with very little sign and no blood. But eventually I found a pile of hair. From there I made circles outward until almost an hour later I found her dead under a log.
