Crap weather around Edmonton, will be a quiet week, hopefully leading to an action packed weekend. Tons of coots everywhere though

From what I have seen from about Innisfail to Ponoka the geese are all over the fields first thing in the morning. They don't seem to be very picky to what was grown this year. If you can do some earlier morning scouting, literally driving the highways and secondaries you should be able find them easy. As for access that's up to you.

IF you can find some water there is good amount of teals and mallards hanging around.

Lots of birds around central AB forsure, lots of specks around. Unfortunately all of our blinds and decoys got stolen. So just hunting over sloughs for us this year

Plenty of very low sloughs, many that had water last few yrs do not have water now. Certainly no flooded crops. One roost I have seen next to nothing on, in the last few yrs of higher water, has tons of birds on it this year, because it is lower. They are utilizing leftover ponds on non flowing creek beds in some areas. Birds are there, either scattered in small flocks or very concentrated in huge flocks. Had no issues with finding or harvesting enough to keep me happy so far. As always, it is different from last year.

Likely took advantage of yesterdays tail wind!!!

Same thing happened to the geese in our immediate area.

Change in the weather = Change in the birds!!!

This weather may boot the local ducks out, bring in some more geese.. That seems to happen every year, get a spot about this time of the month, give or take a week, spend the next week or two waiting for the weather up north to boot some birds south. I am wondering how fast they will move this year, due to whatever weather we get in the next 3-4 wks, but, I wonder at that every year.

Will be a pain walking everything in, but better than not being allowed in at all. After crap weather all week, should be a booming weekend. Havent seen hardly any birds all week, and I just finished my last bag of goose jerky.....
