If you use the PRC it would be to take advantage of loading heavy for caliber bullets so recoil goes up with bullet weight.
At regular hunting distances like 500 yards an less their is little advantage to it over the Win mag other than not having a belt.

Was on the Rob Furlong High Angle Marksmanship course in Sept. And there were 2 participants who had rented Rob's Cadex Kraken's in 300 PRC. Both were shooting out to 2000M with them. They basically were shooting as flat as my 338 LM.

I find the recoil with the 212grain load to be disturbing in a lightweight rifle.

I kinda wish caliber/cartridges would just quite trying to reinvent the wheel.

It's actually getting kinda sickening!

Well then, pick a different hobby!

The 300prc is a wonderful cartridge. It does just as good at a mile with a heavy bullet as the .338LM. If recoil is a concern, a heavy rig and brake can mitigate that quite a bit. I’ve shot one out to only 800m, but it shot very flat. (CHAS club rifle.)

i purchased one in a lightweight seekins rifle. i havent shot without a brake yet and i dont overly want to try. its a heavy hitter. i like the idea of it but personally i will never see much benefit over a win mag other than looks and hype haha.

Default I had one

I had one and loved it. It was braked and I found the recoil to be more of a push than a snap. The ballistics were insane and made making hits at distances very easy.

Side benefit was watching the gong swing like mad when I made hits. The amount of energy it had was goofy!!!

You can get the same ballistics with a 300 win
Just need to make sure its throated for the heavy’s

I’ve been really liking my 300 Norma
And if I were to do it all over again I would probably just order a improved from Ryan Pierce and save myself a lot of headaches and money

I just bought one in the Christensen Mesa LR and it’s a tack driver, recoil is very manageable. Doing some load testing with the 212 ELDX and I settled on 81 grains of N570 and OAL of 3.670” which barely fits in the box. With that load I’m getting 2980fps without pressure signs and shot a 1.02” group at 200 yards. I was at 81.5 grains and was right at 2” groups at 200 going 2990-3005fps.

I’m looking for some heavies (225-250 grain) to try and utilize the 1:8 twist these CA come in. I was looking for a “big banger” and initially the 33 nosler had my attention, but after a hunt with my buddy who had two cow tags I started looking at the 300prc and had to have one. The 711 yard shot speaks for itself. That hunt is on YouTube here.

My wife has an elk tag and she has no issues shooting his rifle at the range and hoping we can get it done with it.

Two reasons. My dies would not properly fit into my press. It used alot of powder and was a bit expensive to shoot.
