Default Best Non-Restricted "Tactical" Long Gun

Good day, I'm a first time user of this forum - glad I came across it. Question: what in your opinion is the best non-restricted tactical long gun? I'm researching this market to buy and any thoughts would be appreciated. Thinking .223

Thanks

One that's accurate

Asking a question like that is like asking which make of pickup truck is best.

My question would be "what do you consider "tactical"?
That is a very misleading statement, as some people consider anything that is black to be tactical.

Best pick up is a Toyota.

I knew it.

A steady diet of razor blades no doubt.

Appreciate the request for clarification. By "tactical" I meant to mean semi-auto, and frankly yes, I am asking "what the best pick-up is" - I know its a broad question.

Thanks again

If you want something like a AR then go with an AR 180. They're none restricted. They look something like this.

http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/attac...2&d=1239244500

If that is what you mean by tactical and depending on how much you want to spend.

Good luck

Swiss Arms Classic Green or for just shooting fun and tacticool furniture the Cz 858. The Cz shoots surplus commie ammo and is fun and accurate out to 5-600 yards but you can't hunt with the cheap ammo and there is not much else for 7.62x39 around. The Swiss Arms is pricey but is supposed to be a better rifle than the AR platform in some peoples opinion, and its non-restricted so you can shoot it anywhere.

The HK SL8 was my pick, it is supposed to be deadly accurate but I had a helluva time to get it down to one MOA. A good reloading geek could probably do better. It is a fun gun.

The best is likely the Swiss Arms rifle, there are not that many choices in tactical type rifles that are not restricted.
I have the CZ 858 and it is a great gun to go out and have fun with. The price difference between these two would allow you to purchase a lifetime supply of ammo. You cane see Swiss arms at P&D if you live in Edmonton. FS

Depends what the price point is too. For budget choices...

This is pretty great for ~$600

This is about $900

Both shoot 9mm

There are so many choices and calibers to choose from the Swiss Arms is amazing the RFB is super fun and little there is robinson arms XCR which is fun and you can mod lots H&K is good Tavor LOl the list is endless really you need to narrow your searh buy price and caliber. There is no "best" Just different.

On the low end of the price scale the kel tec su-16 is a lot of fun, and uses ar mags

I still think this is the craziest non-restricted gun.

You've really got six good quality main choices and they'll all run you you 2000+. Get to a tactical style focused store (such as P&D) and handle some, they all shoot fairly comparably (1.5inchesish) except for the SwissArms which are more of a one inch gun.
1. RFB (308)
2. XCR
3. SL8
4. Tavor
6. SCAR
6. Swissarms

I went with the RA XCR-Lfor caliber conversions, 223, 5.56x45, 6.8SPC,7.62x39. Just a matter of changing the bolt and barrel, takes about 4 min. It also takes LAR-15 mags(10rnds) which is a big bonus.
I put 1000 rnds through it in about 6 hrs. Not a single problem.
The XCR-M should be here soon in 243, 260 rem and 308.
Swiss Arms are more $ mags are more $$$, and the POI changes when shooting off a Bi-pod, still want one though.
