Yeah, because this is the most important issue facing Canadians everyday. Blackface should be fixing the economy and the high cost of living instead of finding new ways to punish taxpayers

This is never going to work. First he was talking about delegating federal authority (Firearms Act, Canadian Firearms Program) to municipalities, while bypassing provincial authority. Now, he says provinces can ban handguns. More wishy washy. It is just a another spineless virtue signal move to look like they are doing something about 'gun violence' in Toronto, Montreal, the lower mainland. Where all the gangs are the problem. They can't address that real problem though because, racism.

Even the talk about going after smuggled guns is a red herring. If the gangs were shut down hard, there would be no market for those guns. Simple economics, supply and demand.

But anyway, this nonsense of 'allowing' provinces to ban guns is a joke. And it won't prevent one single gang shooting. Trudeau has talked tough, and gone after legal gun owners, while violent crime has gone up under his reign.

Canada doesn't have a problem with gun violence. Canada has a problem with spineless virtue signalling leaders who are too gutless to address the real issue.

Make some popcorn, sit back and watch.

In that case, provinces should be able to enable legal carrying also.

If provinces can prohibit gun ownership can they make it mandatory also?

Constitutional carry is coming to the whole US very soon.
It will drive the Left in Canada nuts as every non-felon US citizen could soon be legally able to carry without a CCW.
I will sit north of the 49th and weep in jealous envy.

Default Smart politics?

I don’t want to give too much credit here, but if the UCP runs with Kennedy as leader, the N Ds could have this as part of their platform. Stay tuned.

NDP gets elected and this rule is in place? You absolutely will lose handguns in this province.

Nope

Once gun owners stop acting like little pansies, politicians will stop going after guns

Until then, you get what you vote for

I'm furious today with the lack of critical thinking in our population. Trudeau states If municipalities and provinces are ready to engage the federal government on looking at additional ways, on how we can get illegal guns, including handguns out of our communities
It has been said before, but if people have illegal guns and don't observe the existing laws that make said handgun illegal how is banning them going to change anything?

Buffoons all of them

If they ban handguns whose paying for the buyback?
What would the cost be to buyback every handgun in Alberta not to mention legal challenges and administration.

The spineless Liberals are just sluffing off to the provinces because they know it can't be done by them, more virtue signaling to offset their incompetence.
