For those that reload for this caliber I'm curious to what bullet diameter your using.
7x57 mauser takes a .285 diameter bullet. Anyone using .284 bullets?
So close my thoughts are a lead base bullet would just bulge to .285 ???
Is it worth worrying about being that close between to two.

European 7 mm cartridges all have 7.24 mm (0.285 in) grooves diameter. American 7 mm cartridges have 7.21 mm (0.284 in) grooves diameter.
First time I looked a this.
I shoot a Brno 41 in 7x57 .
Dad used it, bought ammo made in NA. Killed critters.
I load my own. Kill critters.
Nothing to worry about 1/1000"

I load for 7x57, 7x57R, 7x64. 7x65R, 7 Rem Mag, and 7 Ultra Mag. I use Hornady .284 bullets of one sort or another in all of them. They will all shoot in the 1/2" range so I am thinking the bullet size is adequate.

Don't know of any modern manufacturers who are making 7 x 57 rifles with a .285 bore anymore, they are all using standard .284. No idea where you would find .285 bullets either.
I thought it wouldn't be a big deal at all.
But I prefer hearing people that are already doing and any negative results. With that said. No big deal...284 is fine.
Thanks all
