Default some modern/old good news on 351 WSL

Yesterday (March 5) picked up 39 rounds of once-shot 351 WSL brass. It's his dad's old stuff, the seller said. That's the nice old news part.

The modern good news is that he says he also has his dad's old .352 mold for making bullets! I sure do want that, I said, figure a price and I'll buy it.

I don't pour molten lead, and have no intention of starting, just too much fuss for me. But I'm sure someone in Canada would like to acquire said mold and start making bullets HERE! We can export to the US, lol.

Once I get the mold I'll put out news to interested parties, and get this thing going.

Me, I have a very nice 1956 351 WSL, and now a decent supply of used brass, 60 new Jamison 351 cases, 13 old Dominion jacketed bullets, and a big bag of 180 grain lead bullets, plus new powder and small rifle primers. Time to load and up and try it out!

As for the brass-catcher issue, at the range there are big screen barriers to catch what's flung out by various other self loaders. I figure to just stand next to one of those to catch the 351s. Easy.

I'd prefer to shoot alone, outdoors, but may not be the best idea with this piece. No worries, have others for that.

I reload 351 and 35wsl with cast 0.358in bullets sized to 0.352 and I machine brass down from either 360DW or 38special. 360dw is a bit longer than 351 so turn the rim down, add a very slight extractor groove and trim to 351 length. Also 38special brass loaded to 35wsl specs feeds and cycles just fine in my 351wsl and I’m less sad when I loose some 38special brass. For dies 351 is so externally similar to 357mag I reload with Lee 357 dies without issues other then neck tension issues. If you want a box a 50 38special turned to 35wsl specs let me know I have an extra box at the moment.
