Rem 700 Based Custom Action Experience

I’m dreaming of another rifle build and curious to hear of everyone’s experience on the various short action receivers based on the rem 700 footprint.

Action brands include but aren’t limited to.

Borden
Defiance
Bighorn Arms
Terminus
Stiller
Surgeon
Impact
Lone peak
Bat
Ks Arms

There’s more and each manufacturer has many models available…. Too many options but figure I’d be looking for the one with the integral picatinny rail.

Currently I have a terminus and I can’t imagine an action be any smoother on the bolt slide. Possibly lighter bolt lift, but without comparison, I’d bet it would be hard to beat as well.

I built mine off a bighorn
Can swap bolt faces
It’s nice and smooth
Controlled round feed as well

I don't have any experience with doing a build but actually just decided to have my first one done. I got a quote from KS Arms based on some recommendations I received, and will be talking to them Monday to confirm and put deposit down. Action, barrel, trigger, and wildcat composite stock. I've only been thinking about it for ten or more years. Figured it was time. I will be watching this thread to see what others have to say, but I have been thinking about it long enough and I'm decided now.

You will probably avoid a lot of supply chain issues for products coming out of the states

My experience is limited to Defiance Deviant and Rebel actions. I can’t imagine how it can get any better than these. My Defiance actions are left bolt right port for shooting from a bench.

The next rifle I build will be a KS Arms with a wildcat stock.

It’s great to hear everyone’s feedback.

I believed I found someone local with a few builds for actions and I’m going to go check them out. In the meantime here’s a video I found on the terminus 3 lug.

I have one terminus already and really like it. The 3 lug is somewhat unique but Ks has one and ultimatum as mentioned as well as the Curtis brand
