Default Powder life and storage

Got a question for all you reloaders ...I have a neighbour that has approximately and this is no joke 100+ boxes of 30 06 shells reloaded and stored in a cool dry place ..will those rounds deteriorate over time or would he be better off leaving the components ( primers ,powder) in their cases/ cans for storage .

as far as i know if stored properly (not hot then cold hot and cold,) those rounds should still be good 100+ yrs down the line. iv shot alot of wwii surplus ammo and it goes bang and that wasnt im sure stored the best. he might get a misfire here n there , but if thats due to time or a bad primer who will know, and weve all had bad primers. the only advantage i see in leaving in there boxs and cans is you could resell the powder, primers, bullets, alot harder to sell your personal reloads. some one more knowledgeable then me will hopefully chime in.

I shoot 80 year old .22 shells....

60 year old 30-06 shells....

Cool and dry place.

As for reloads, no difference other than knowing what they are.....kinda nice to know that they are safely reloaded....

While in Iraq in 2006/7 my platoon was issued .50 cal ammo that had packing dates from 1943-46. Stuff worked great!! Nice and shiny every ammo can we opened!
