Default Transfer

So someone wants to give me his guns. They are registered in his name. I go to the website and print off the form, read it, and see a section on "Verification of Firearms".
I'm thinking cripes...I have to bring the guns to some guy so he can say "yup, that's what they are" and get his signature. Pain in the butt.

So before I go too far I note on the website that you can transfer firearms over the phone. How is this going to work with the verification part I wonder?? I phone them up and ask them.

Answer:
If I fill out the paper form and send it in, I need to have the firearms verified by a verifier and get his signature.

If I phone the transfer in I don't need to get any verification done because "they will trust that I provide them with the correct information".

WHAT KIND OF A $#%*ING IS THIS?????????
2+ BILLION FOR THIS?????? (with rumours of 3+ billion!!!)

And everyone is going crazy over a $100 million dollar scandal?????
Give me a break.

Actually Pad I think it's a $250 million dollar scandal, but thats still a drop in the bucket to what the registry is going to finally cost! I guess they think the sponsorship thing will buy them more votes.:\
