Default Newest family member!

We picked this little girl up last Saturday and in a matter of minutes, my heart was mush!! She will hopefully be out with me next season for some ducks and geese. Anyone know a good hunting dog trainer? I will post some more pics soon.

I had my dog trained by Glen Selwyn of Goldwing Kennels in Magrath and I could not of hoped for a better well trained dog for hunting and her temperment around the house is better than I had hoped for. I would highly recommend him

Glen is the best that I know of in the province. Another guy named Monty I think last name is Carp out of Strathmore is good as well. A little slower but good. We had a bit of an issue with a dog we had trained there and no longer use him but he seemed to do pretty good as far as the training other than a little slower than it should have been. I would say just stick with Glen out of Magrath. I am sure Rackmaster who lives down there would also give him a thumb up as well. It is pricey to have a guy like that train your dog but well worth it in the end

whisky X2 on the cost of Goldwing....or at least a ballpark? She is only 10 weeks now, but I'd like to get an idea of what I will be getting into costwise.

Thanks

i had monty train my pups and he was great, and hes he did take sometime training them but i have chessies so slow learners lol, and jamie had monty train his pup there too so ask him he seems pretty happy, i think he got his dog ontime. but in the end one dog cost me $2500 for 5 and a have months of training and kenneling

If i remember correectly, it was 2 years ago, it was apprximatley 1200 i had to board her there as I live in the north, but it dependas on the type of training I had on and off leash obedience and begining water, he does dp upland but it was of no use to me up here. I have attached a link to his website, but it is a little pricey but when you see the end result it is welll worth it. I take my dog to work so she needed to be calm and listen and it turned out better than expected, and since glen taught me how to keep up training for her I have found using his tips that it is easier to train her to do other things.

http://www.goldwingkennels.com/

Have a look at his web page and give him a call let him know what kind of training you are interested in and he will give you price. A friend of mine gave me his number and he also has a great retriever.
