If i shoot a small centerfire , .204 , 22-250 my hit rate, and i would think most shooters would be a lot higher then 65% ? There's no walking wounded ! Ha [maybe with .22 LR the odd time]
Take 300 shots at gophers i'm not missing over 100 times.

First time gopher hunting where I've had to hold 3" left at 40 yds. Also the first time I've had to use all of my weight to get a truck door open then almost get crushed by it climbing back in.

You might be surprised, a lot of those DRT gopher do seem to get up and walk away. But hey what do I know.
But I am willing to go on a shoot with you and keep count... I will be your back up shooter, center fire or rimfire.

Got out first time this yr. Approx 150 between two of us. Not many compared to others but have to start somewhere. Shooting on a cultivated field. Very hard to see the little buggers. Lots of little guys.

Was a great day for shooting gophers. Went through 250 17 hmr in less than 5 hours. Should have brought a 22rf as well as I was having to let the 17 cool off. Not often you get a rim fire bolt gun that hot.
Figure my hit rate was north of 80% as most shots were well under 120 yards, but only adding 170 to the count. Total now 8834.
