Skunk pelt

Anyone know when skunk pelts become prime? Caught one at the house tonight and I might put it up to tan.

Skunks will be prime in December/January. They Semi-hibernate and may not come out of their dens during those months though.

Dave I caught one on North Western trapline in December, so the odd one appears to walk around in mid winter. They are not very common in big bush country, seem to be more of farm animal.

Skin the giants, 3XL-2XL routinely hit the $30 mark. If their stripes are badly off color throw them away or use for winter bait.
