I was doing some reading on them last night. I'd like to shoot one...its a short ATA but the giant dinner plate cams make up for that making the string angle friendly.

The Halon looks like the first bow Mathews has put out in quite a few years that I am actually looking forward to trying out. The htr no cam gimmick was a major disappointment in my opinion, I'm glad they are heading in a different direction.

I have heard they are a home run this year. I would like to try one out too. I'm not sure if they are in the shops yet though.

The only thing I don't like about the specs is the mass weight, at a little over 4.5 pounds it's a bit on the heavy side for a hunting bow IMO. If it came in at the 3.8-4.0 pound range is be all over it.

FWIW, the Halon's cams seem to have a circular (constant radius) profile for much of the draw cycle, and so aren't terribly far removed from the NoCam. Perhaps the Halon retains most of the benefits of the round string tracks (w.r.t. tuning and nock travel) but greater speed.

I wouldn't say the cams are any closer to being round than any other manufacturers cams, but I agree that i hope they're getting better speeds.

I agree they aren't square, but if you put 4 of those on your car you would agree they aren't round.

Lol.
I wouldn't want this on either my bike or my bow, even if it's close to the shape of some cams:
But again, what I wrote is that "the Halon's cams seem to have a circular (constant radius) profile for much of the draw cycle". Never claimed they were round.

I have shot the halon 6. Seems like a really well built bow, smooth draw cycle, no vibe and a solid back wall. The thing that I personally don't like the feel of is that it is very stiff at the start of the draw cycle, the no cam is very similar to this as well. Defiantly worth shooting, I would give it a try if you get a chance.
