Default Hackle for fly tying

I'm new to fly tying and was wondering where is the best place to good quality hackle. I live part time in Grande Prairie and the rest in Calgary. I'm looking for hackle to tie size 8-20 dry flies.

Try Fishtales, Bow River Troutfitters, or country pleasures as the all will have a variety of qualities of hackle depending on your budget. Non fly specific stores will usually only have the cheap stuff and staff that are less then knowledgable.

Was in Fishtales this afternoon, and they have a great supply of hackle in right now...lots of quality capes, saddles and necks.

I have had good luck at WSP in GP. Ask lots of questions and they will get frustrated and let you in the back to root around on your own. Also gives me a chance to give them hints at what I would like to see on their next order.
