Default starting out

What are absolute necessities to start shooting a bow and maintaining a bow. I really don't want to spend a fortune.

Default minium requirements

Bow with arrows. Finger tab or glove or release. Nock square and nock pliers. Sight optional. Wax the string. This would be the bare minium. The best thing you could do for yourself is go to a shop that has lanes and try out a bow or two. Talk to the tech and find out what he suggest you should start with. From the info you gained you will then be able to make a decision.

You don't need to break the bank to start bowhunting. Make sure you meet the minimums required by law and enjoy yourself. Your hunting ability determines your success, not your weapon. But be foreworned, bowhunting gets in your blood and you can spend more on a good bowhunting set up than you would on a firearm.
