I know it's early in the season but it's nice to see the 2 Alberta teams fighting for 1st place in the west instead of the basement

Agreed

Oilers offence is dangerous while their D is still lacking some credibility still… only minor improvements so far. Goaltending isn’t bailing the. Out. They are improving still which is good to see.

Flames have the better goals for and against stats compare to the Oilers but both teams are doing great. Lots of goals which is exciting to watch for both teams.

Flames have some communal offence whereas the Oilers have a line that can swarm you.

Flames offence has taken off while their D is doing okay and seems to be improving. Goaltending has saved them a number of goals. So yes… Flames D can definitely tighten up.

I only see the Oilers offence getting stronger and stronger. Both D’s need to improve in the run up to the Cup battle.

Flames Team defence might be great, and Markstrom is a solid goaltender, but if you think the starting 6 D are "great" you're kidding yourself.

Another 20-30 games into the season and we'll know who's who in the zoo. Way too early to make any predictions outside of the Oilers power play.

I will give that great maybe is a bit much because goaltending for the Flames has been stronger than the Oilers.

Yes… I will revise my statement above.

If both teams are playing well it will be epic.

All good. One team is offence first across the board and one team is defence first, press, and capitalize on opportunities created.

Flames probably have more balance up front admittedly. Oilers lose "One Guy" to injury and its uh oh time.

Monahan and Yamamoto?

No you guys here. My #1 team is embroiled in controversy and hasn't won a single game this season.

The only team the Oilers have faced so far that made the playoffs last year is Vegas and they were missing 3 key players

Calgary has only faced 2 playoff team in the Oilers and Washington and are 1-1 with a 4-3 win over Washington.

Both team are having a great start, but given the teams they were playing, they needed to have that good start. And I think we need a bigger sample size before either team starts planning a parade.

Yup…^ wouldn’t surprise me for either team to go 3 and 7 over the next 10.
Hope not but……

And Tampa are the defending Cup champs and last place in Atlantic at the moment.

Last year is last year, who won what when then doesn't matter. It's a new year, and both teams have had a good start. Surprisingly for Flames.

But your point isn't really relevant. And pretty sure nobody is planning a parade less then ten games into the season. Lots of good observations being made, anything can change with an injury to a key player.

I agree, however, it seems the ref's put away their whistle at playoff time. So, regular season it is a HOT pp statistic

Thanks for the critique of my opinion… it’s an honour.

By the way Tampa is 4th in the Atlantic right now.

I like how the Oilers are going (except for goaltending) so far. BUT holy cow, the Flames are on FIRE!! If they play Sutts hockey, they'll be a force to reckon with

Dayuum guys, the innernet is speculating Marc-Andre Fleury is rumoured to be actively sought by the Oilers. Montreal is the other suitor. I just picked this site, but there is a whole lot more
