I was catching pike ice fishing this morning and it’s just not the same. It’s just enough to keep my sanity till real fishing starts

Never heard of this lure until my wife snagged a fishing line while walleye fishing and at the end of it was this so called whopper popper. Never seen this lure before so googled it and yup it catches pike!
Funny is that same area I snagged a rod there too gonna go back this spring and see if I can snag more gear. Lol

Pretty cool video. Got to love top water catches. I love when a bass comes out of the Lilly pads to grab a frog bait skipping along as well

I have had luck on a large variety of top water lures but I mostly build my own lures
Pike also like crawlers(jitter bug style)surface gliders(spook), wake baits, and prop style lures. Another is floating soft plastics rigged weedless
